IN 2014:

New Spaces

A new library location has opened on the 6th and 7th floors of the University Center (63 5th Ave.). In fall 2014, a new library location will open on the 8th floor of the List Center (6 E. 16th St.) The Gimbel and Fogelman library spaces will be repurposed for other uses.

What will be at the new locations?

A variety of seating options, including:

  • Bookable group workspaces and quiet study areas.
  • Computer workstations and printing, scanning and copying services
  • Self-check out kiosks
  • On-site collections of highly-used materials

    • At the University Center:
      Art, Architecture, Design, Fashion, & Technology
    • Fall 2014 at the List Center:
      Social Sciences and Humanities

Always available

An extensive off-site collection available upon request through the catalog.

A robust collection of electronic journals, books, images and streaming media is always available at or at

Reserve services continue to make physical and digital resources, such as books, articles, books, and AV materials accessible, in accordance with copyright law, for students. This service is available upon request. Please allow for processing time when making a reserves request.

The Request an Instruction form is always available on the library website to book an in-class session with a librarian.

All New School materials can be delivered upon request to any New School library location.
